Hello I want to spiral breed my Rhode island reds, but I only have 1 rooster available. I have 3 hens, 2 are from the same line and the third is from a different line. The rooster also comes from a line different from all hens. Is it possible to breed the rooster to all 3 hens then take a son from each hen and breed it back to their mother and take a rooster from that breeding to the next clan?

I've got some graphics about spiral breeding from a while back... It is absolutely possible to spiral breed to start with one rooster, but you'll need to keep at least two other roosters from the next generation to start a true spiral breeding pattern.

Technically yes, but you have to be careful how you go about it. The first chart is spiral breeding and the second clan mating.
