:sick I haven’t yet come across hairworms! I just started in the chicken world...
I heard the topic of organic food grade diatomaceous earth is controversial in the chicken world but I use it for all my dogs, rescues, myself and chickens prn. What is your opinion on this as a preventative and or treatment alternative to the harsher pharmaceuticals?
Thank you for sharing this!!!

Sorry, just now seeing this. My power has been out all throughout the day, we had 110mph winds today.

I don't use DE, nor do I recommend it. As a dewormer, its useless, and as an ectoparasite killer, it does little to nothing.

The proof really isn't there that it has many benefits, in fact, the United States Department of Labor lists it as a group 3 carcinogen.

Wow! Very cool! I’ve been meaning to do a fecal float on my duck’s poop, but I have not done so yet. one day, I’ll either get my butt in gear and get to work extra early, or I’ll buy my own darn microscope! Anyways, thank you for sharing. I thought it was really neat!

Looking at poop under a microscope, is surprisingly fun, lol.

Thank you for responding. I’ve seen the OSHA info on it when I started using it for anything with an exoskeleton in my home!
I have certainly seen Some FDA GRAS DE used that are deadly to mammals & avians alike!
