Spitzhauben roo or hen???

Hatch date 2/20. Roo or hen???
All the same chicken. Top hat is a little yucky with watermelon.

It would help to have a picture with its tail in it and maybe a closer picture of hackle and/or saddle feathers.

If I had to guess based on these photos, I'd guess cockerel because of the red comb & wattles. But just a guess.

agree- maybe a "feather net" would keep crest out of watermelon and other stickies.
