Splash Mottled Cochins?

Here i found this info else where on the net and copied just some of it..so they do or may exist..

Results from pairing F1 Blue (carrying mottled) to F1 Blue (carrying mottled):
25% mottled:
12.5% blue mottled (Bl/bl, mo/mo)
6.25% black mottled (bl/bl, mo/mo)
6.25% splash mottled (Bl/Bl, mo/mo)

50% carrying mottled:
25% blue, carrying mottled (Bl/bl, Mo/mo)
12.5% black, carrying mottled (bl/bl, Mo/mo)
12.5% splash, carrying mottled (Bl/Bl, Mo/mo)

25% not carrying mottled:
12.5% blue (Bl/bl, Mo/Mo)
6.25% black (bl/bl, Mo/Mo)
6.25% splash (Bl/Bl, Mo/Mo)

Mo = non mottled
mo = mottled gene
Bl = blue gene
bl = non-blue

Bl/bl = blue phenotype
Bl/Bl = splash phenotype
bl/bl = black phenotype in this example

Sorry I meant blue X blue, typo on my part lilpeeps. Thanks wilds of pa for that info and yes they do exist. Many colors are made up of two or more genes. I was just wondering if anyone had a pic but no biggie.

Your welcome, personally Ive never seen a mottled splash.. love to see one my self..

Looks tough to get with all the small percentages to get it. id guess its based on 100 chicks.

If you run into any pic's, please let me know or pm me a link..

Thanks
Charlie

You could try emailing the seller of the second auction listing. They have a blue and black mottled roo over blue and black mottled hens. Ask them if they've hatched from them and got any splash mottleds. They should have some splash mottled chick pics if the blue mottled is mating blue mottled hens.

Hi - I've been reading your posts and just joined this site. Does anyone know what you'd get crossing silver laced with splash or blue, etc. I have a nice trio of black silver laced cochins and have some blue splash eggs on the way that we're going to hatch out. I'm excited about the color possibilities, does anyone have any experience with laced x splash crosses??? Thanks!

I have splash and mottled and blue they are all different.

Yes, they CAN be separate, but the (VERY OLD) question was about splash AND mottled in one bird. Genetically that would be two copies of the blue gene as well as two copies of the mottled gene. Blue is one copy of the blue gene; blue mottled adds in two copies of the mottled to the one copy of blue. Regular (black) mottled has two copies of not-blue and two copies of mottle.

I suggest that you start your own thread specifically with your question. Google "chicken calculator" and you should be able to find Hank's calculator to show the outcomes of mixing varieties.
