Splash Orpingtons. Who has them? Where can I get some?

We are new to chickens and our first batch are only 6 weeks old but I am in love with our buff orps. I think out of 14 we only got about 6 or 7 hens.

I have seen some splash and they are just gorgeous!! I would love some. Can anyone tell me where I could get some that can be delivered to Alberta, Canada? I would also love to see more pictures.

Oops, forgot to ask, what can you cross to get splash? We also have austalorpes. 2 hens.

Blue to Blue will produce a percentage of splash chicks.. I have some pictures but I am heading off to church In a few minutes so when I get back I can add some.

Most people do not breed just splash. It will be hard to find only that color since it results from a blue mating or a splash to splash and I dont know of anyone who keeps just a splash pen. In the U.S. there are only two or three hatcheries who sell Blue/Black/Splash Orpingtons and they are booked till 2009. I'm not sure about Canada. And neither offer splash only, as a separate color, that I'm aware of. Hope you can find some. My blue roo and blue hens produce splash as the least percentage of the hatch. I get mostly blues and blacks.

Hmmm, so it is like trying to breed a harlequin dane! lol. I have one and I know he was the only one of a litter of 10. The rest were merle and mantled. Interesting. Well, 2009 might work well for me. Actually, any of those colors sound good to me. Especially the blue. If I bred a blue orp to my black australorpes could I get splash? They aren't to sell, just for us to enjoy as pets.

No, when you breed blue to black, you only get blues and blacks. You must breed blue to blue and pray for a splash, LOL. Naturally, splash to splash yields splash, too. Blue to splash gets you blues and splashes. Thats how it works.

I'm working on a decent Splash pen but it would be mid 2009 or later before I will have anything available in the line of eggs...I love just the Splash orps standing on their own.......

Both the rooster in mine and Tuff's avatars are Blue Orpingtons. I dont have a website and I dont think Sandy does, either, do you?

Wow!! They are just gorgeous!! Gots ta git me soma dem! lol. I really love our buffs and definitely want more. What do you get if you cross a blue and a buff? Are you asking if I have a website? I don't have our chicks on mine yet. Really gotta get to it.
