Splash Orpingtons. Who has them? Where can I get some?

I meant Sandy, actually, sorry. Buff and Blue wont give you really predictable results in your end product. You could get black or blue birds with gold in the hackles or several variations of that. A blue bird is essentially a black bird with a one blue gene. A splash has two blue genes, so is basically a white bird with "accent feathers".

OK. Thank you and sorry for the misunderstanding. I love all of this genetics stuff. Just starting to figure out miniature horse colors and great danes and now into chickens. I am waiting to be approved for the orpington list on yahoogroups and hope to learn a whole lot more. I really appreciate your help.

Very cool!! You guys have beautiful birds! I can't wait to see our guy all grown up. His name is Uncle Crackers and he is super friendly!! Comes straight to you for pets and to be cuddled. He even gets to come into the house to watch tv. Chicken Run is his favourite movie!

Just kidding but he does seem to like Spongebob.

Nope ..I don't have a website... As Cyn said our Roos in the Avatars are Blue Orpingtons....I just love Splash so gotta grow my Rooster out for the splash girls...

PM i hope you can find some in Canada. They are a lovely breed to deal with. Very docile for their size.

Thank you BamaChicken. The only orps I could find were the buff ones but I am hoping the orp yahoogroup will help me find some different colors. I really think I want some blues. Holy Moly they are pretty! Do all of the colors have the same mild temperament?
