splash question

Do chickens with the splash gene develop more dark splash marks as time goes by? Do they always start with some, or can they be just a pale color and then develop the splash marks later on? I'm trying to figure out if I have a light blue pullet or a splash pullet without her splashes yet. LOL
By what age would you say they have developed all the markings they are going to get?

Silkies get their darker markings when they grow out their adult feathers.

My Splash Polish hens spots darkened up as she matured. Seems like she even deveopled more as she got older.

My splash Orpington start out this light blue color and splash out as they get feathers.
