I am trying the same thing with a chick, mine has splayed leg bad, it was struggling quite a bit out of incubator, I left it in for 2 days after it hatched because I had 2 more eggs that had holes in them that hadn't hatched, I think it was not good conditions for hatched chick, it will eat, but I am still feeding it water with eye dropper, it has been about a week, it's legs are very splayed

Wondering if the uneven shavings made it difficult for her to walk? Ppl recommend flat grippy surface for chicks with splay leg.
