I started treating a day old chick for played leg. It spent the first 12 using the binder & straw trick banked in a corner foe support. 24 hrs later her leg is no longer sticking directly behind her but more underneath her and slightly at her side. She now has full run of the container with paper towles as her bedding. She is till struggling to get around and it appears as if her feet are swollen. Shes not quite 48 hrs old so not interested in eating or drinking yet. Any suggestions or just keep doing what im doing? Or how long i should do it for? I just dont want to prolong her life if shes in pain. Its hard to tell in the photos, but she pretty much sits back on her butt with her legs in front of her. Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

Hows your chick? I just hatched one with splayed leg
She is perfect! I did the binder/straw trick. I banked her in the corner of a tub under a heat lamp for 2 days. Then took her brace off and had her on a non slip surface. Gave her a friend to encourage her and now shes perfect!!!! Please feel free to check back or ask questions!

What did you use for a brace? Glad she’s better.
