Looks like a leg bone deformity. Unfortunately, deformities usually cannot be corrected, and it would be painful to try. She's about 6 weeks old. I really didn't notice this before. I think it may be recent but not 100%.
What could it be? How can I help her?
Thank you for answering candidly. She's currently able to walk very slowly, but I can't imagine her living a happy life with my flock considering how the older ones i treat smaller new members/sick chickens. It's a tough decision. I guess I'll watch her for a while and see how well she is adapting and then make a decision.Looks like a leg bone deformity. The condition may worsen as she gets older and puts on more weight. Some can learn to adapt or may need daily help to ensure they can get to food/water. Some fail to thrive.
Quality of life, how much time and commitment to long term care also needs to be considered, especially if the bird becomes unable to move about on their own.
