Splinting the Tarsometatarsus

Here is how I splinted one. It was a simple fracture down low very close to the joint. I left the splint on for about two weeks and it healed perfectly.

How did you know that she had a fracture?

Because I felt I break when I caught him. However, if he had broken it naturally, it would have been easy to diagnose because he was limping badly and the fracture was easy to feel..

Feeling bad is reasonable but dont beat yourself up too bad - it was an accident and you are a great chicken tender.
