I have a split batch in the incubator and borrowed an incubator for lockdown of the first batch. The batches are 3 days apart due to shipping trouble. The second incubator has a horizontal egg turner but the eggs were started vertical. Could I use a cardboard egg carton for lockdown so that the eggs remain upright?

Egg cartons are best for shipped eggs.

Happy hatching!

It is working its way around the egg now and seems strong. It has made its way about 1/3 of the way around the egg and luckily working towards the side that has more room between the egg and the carton. It looks promising but I am keeping a close eye on it.

That is good news!

I had one that had pipped into the small end that got stuck and was able to break out of the shell like the hulk! It was amazing to see
