We got our first real snow of the season yesterday and the girls absolutely despise the stuff. Most had refused to come out of the coop for basically two days so they needed a little bit of encouragement 😂🤣

Freckles, however, had apparently decided to venture off on her own to their favorite spot under the deck but then got separated because she refused to walk back over the snow. Even though she made it over there just fine. 😂🤣🤦‍♀️

Anyway, I heard her calling to me from under there and did a little rescue mission 🤣 took a bit of encouragement at first but after thinking about it, she realized the hay wasn’t as cold and followed me back as I put down the path. At least until she decided about halfway across that I was too slow putting the hay down and flew the last few feet back 😂🤣

They are ridiculous. :lau

Anyone else have spoiled, cold hating birds? 😂🤣🤦‍♀️

They don’t know how good they have it LOL I also have been going out there every day the last maybe week or two and making them a nice, warm, wet mash every day as well 😂🤣🤦‍♀️
Well in all fairness, mine aren't spoiled. I won't put down hay for them and they do not get warm breakfast. I do however shovel them a path and provide a heated nipple waterer for them. If they don't wanna use it they eat snow, and if they don't like snow then they can stay in the coop! I hate winter!

Tbh I never used to spoil mine so much but now I’m down to only six so they’re lucky :lau I felt bad they were stuck in the coop (even though they could have come out) and they seem to like the mash so now I feel mean stopping it 😂🤣

It's funny watching them standing in the door watching me across the yard, knowing I have treats. If you want treats then you're gonna have to suck it up. None of my friends chickens act like that...and I can't stand seeing them stuck inside all the time either! They seem to mind less when I shovel around the coop, so I'll keep shoveling for them..I had a tarp covered run that I was keeping hay down in for them, but it didn't last the first snowfall. I'm trying to figure out something for the future.

They won’t even come out for treats!? Wow! Mine saw there were treats involved and were like food’s involved!? Say no more! 😂🤣
