Sportsman 1502 Incubator. Custom Egg Trays ?

OK. I bit the bullet and I am expecting a new GQF Sportsman 1502. I would like to hear how some of you have customized yours, and also did you buy those expensive egg trays, or make some ? Thank you.

I use cardboard egg cartons, & line them up on the shelves.

Anybody else ? The racks and tray seem pretty steep.

The egg cartons fit in crossways, & only slide about an inch or so when it rotates. You'll love the 1502. I do!

Plastic egg trays are the way to go, if you do lots of incubating there easy to clean, Lil bleach and soap and dry them out in the sun..

We use both plastic egg trays, and fiber egg trays.

The plastic gets washed, the fiber trays go in the compost.

No noticable difference in hatch rate.
