Sportsman??

I don't like the cardboard ones because the mess with the humidity.

if you do , cut holes at the peaks top and bottom.. best to have air flow around the eggs, if not eggs in center will not get the warm air.

you can also make V out of wire lenght of tray, get lots more eggs in them.

How long dose it take for it to heat back up after adding eggs. I put 6 doz in last night and 12 hrs later it is at 98.

X2,

I use the plastic trays and they are pretty cheep and a 1 time purchase. Dickey's incubators has them pretty cheap jus get all you need on one order bacause shipping will be the same for 1 or 8. They are the same size as the ones used in the sportsman.

i have had mine running for 5 days, as I just finished a hatch. But put 2 dozen in at 10. The temp never dropped. I walked by one of my chicken houses, and heard egg soneg, so picked up what was layed between 10 ans 12 and put them in. I cked the eggs that were in, and they were all warm to the touch, so with 2 dozen in mine that were about 60 degrees, took less than 2 hrs to get them to temp

I have even set eggs without carton, just place eggs in tray, eggs side by side, still large end up. Use foam to take up any extra space at end of last roll. With the egg carton or plastic tray , thats only 60 per tray, 180 incubator full. Have set both chicken and pheasant eggs this way, 20 dozen chicken eggs. 180 or 240 , yes i had one or two break,(crack, not open) number depend on egg size.
