Great story with a happy ending..love it. Barred Rocks are my favorite hens. They seem to be a little smarter than the others. All the roosters have been mean, though. Hope Spots lives a long, prosperous life.

I'm glad you found Spot and that she's recovering. It does seem true that an animal which has been rescued shows a deep appreciation for it's rescuer. Many animals adopted from shelters demonstrate what their owners/guardians consider to be thanks and appreciation for their rescues, as if they know their lives were saved. I hope Spot has many happy healthy years as a beloved pet.
