SpottedCrow - I found it!! The poem!

Spotted Crow, in my Emergencies thread about having to have the vet euthanize my baby chick we were looking for the "chicken left too soon" poem. I found it!!

It was written by Deb at Heavens Door Acres and I'm on my way right now to PM & ask if I can print it to hang on my wall next to my Rainbow Bridge poem!

It is so beautiful and comforting. Here it is:

I flew the coop to soon it seems, to all my human friends.
I know your heart is breaking and will take some time to mend.
Our lives are all planned out you see, no matter how we try.
I know the love you have for me, I saw it in your eyes.
My coop is now in Heaven, my pastures green and bright.
The days are always sunny, warm breezes every night.
GOD saw that my work was done, and called me to come home.
When you see a feather in the wind, remember me....your not alone.

Hey everyone...thanks for resurfaceing this poem. Anyone that wants to use it...may. I am proud to share any words that may comfort someone...and help to ease the pain of a lost one. I am going through a loss myself. My RP Hen, Eve....she was so sick last summer with Black head disease. I was able to pull her through...now...she has I think a BAD prolaps. I will let her go...this evening.

Deb, I'm so sorry to read about the loss you're going through too.

I'm finding it's not easy nor quick to get through the grief either.

I'll send up some prayers for you, and maybe Eve can tell my baby chick stories about life as a "big grown-up" chick.
