Spotty Egg=Bacterial Contamination

I was on someone's blog and they said how they had a spotty egg and simply discarded it because that was a sign of baterial contamination. Now, I think they meant spotty on the outside, like speckled. They say that they cracked it open, but they surmised it was "rotten" because the hen pushed it out of the nest. So, it got me wondering about it, is there any truth to this? Thanks for your help
