Hello

My hen started being broody for a few days now, so I’ve given her an egg yesterday for her to keep.

Today, she didn’t get out of her nest all day. So I had to force her out for some time (she’s trying to come back every time), push her beak in the water for her to drink, and literally spill the grains for her to eat as my other hand is keeping her beak open because she won’t eat.

Also, all her feathers are "standing up" all the time whenever she’s outside or when I’m looking at her while she’s on the nest. All the other chickens are attacking her whenever I get her out too, that’s not normal.

What can I do for her to be okay and not die this way? Thanks for the help

😂 that’s what I call broody attitude my best broody Mrs. Prissy has kicked other broodies off their nest so she can hatch the eggs and she refuses to let any others go broody, a broody hen will only poop once or twice a day and will only eat maybe once a day and will drink sparingly but usually they won’t do it infront of you so you’ll never know. They constantly keep their feathers raised and can be extremely aggressive here’s Mrs. Prissy being broody

I’d give her a couple of eggs the first and last photos were her on multiple golf balls and then after a week she slowly began collecting eggs, she became not broody after two weeks of sitting on them and I had to incubate the 13 eggs she had slowly been collecting

Sounds normal.
I have one that will not get off the nest unless I force her. So every day I have to haul her off while she pecks me and curses at me. I carry her as far away from the nest as I can and put her down.
She usually lets rip a massive poop, then eats and drinks and dust bathes, and in less than 5 mins is back on the nest.
My other broodies are better at getting off the nest roughly once a day without me interfering.
It is a good idea to weigh her now so you can tell if she is losing a lot of weight.
