Spout Layer feed vs. Feed Mill feed???

Hi,

We've been feeding ours the layer feed from Fleet Farm which has run us about $10 a week for 50 lbs....

I just found out we have a feed mill ( i dont get around much!!) here in town that sells the feed that they mix there for $17 for 100lbs....so that would essentially give us 1 bag of feed free a month if we switch...

Looking for those of you that would have pros / cons for switching their feed from Sprout layer to feed mill mixed feed?

Should I maybe mix the 2 together if we do decide to switch? Atleast then it wouldn't be a complete change over?

Only thing I ever heard about changing their feed is they might stop laying eggs for awhile. So I was always told to never change feed brands.

For $80 a year difference, I would switch to the feed mill stuff. I think mixing at first would be a good idea. I switched a while back and had no change in egg laying.
