We had our first successful hatch, but one of the Silkies developed spraddle leg a day after hatch. He is separated in a clear box with nonslip drawer liners and leg splints made out of pipe cleaners. Also, we've been giving him savAchick & scrambled eggs w/plain yogurt every few hours via needless syringe. We keep reading that this is fixable, but our efforts don't seem to be helping. He is LOUD and peeps all day, but he's kind of just laying there face down and we feel horrible about it. Is there anything at all we can do other than what we've tried so far? How much time do we give him? What are we looking for that says he's improving? Thanks.

Are his toes curled under like a fist or sideways? I would make sure he has poultry vitamins in the water daily containing vitamin B2 (riboflavin) and most do except for Nutri-Drench. Have you tried just taping his legs about an inch apart with vet wrap? If the toes are crooked, You can make tiny shoes out of tape. I would try to keep him with the others most of the time for company, and you can give him breaks if he is beeing trampled. Spraddle leg only take 3-5 days to fix usually unless there is some leg bone deformity. Here are some links if you haven't seen them:
