Ok.. we hatched out some of our White Rocks and Rhode Island Reds , they are anywhere from 1-2 days old and some of them have spadled legs , a few so bad they can't stand up. Someone told us we can give them a vitiam type of stuff, which we always do anyways , we use the kind that McMurry sales that has several types of different vitiams in it . The one suggested is called poultry pack , does anyone know what is best for these chicks, if anything? We have them on newspaper , but only on half the brooder , and the other half is shavings and nothing changes when we move them to that side , still they fall on their bellies. We first thought it was just the White Rocks and maybe something in the breeding , but now that we just saw one of the RIR's we are worried it is something else. Thanks everyone for the help..
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!My hubby had most of them sold by the time I got back home and got your message , but I did do this to the 2 that were left and one is up and walking around a bit today , the other one, well , it is not really helping her much, but I will apply a new bandaid today and make sure I have it in the same spot as the other chick. I would have never thought that a bandaid would do the job.. Thanks so much again for answering my post so fast... You have been a chick saver..
