Hi all, I have a young rooster (about 3-4 months) and I keep him separated from the flock because he is still young and the hens want to kill him. Last week ive noticed that his right wing was droopy and the shoulder sticking away from the body. I didnt see any open wounds. No clue what he did, i guess he must have caught the wing against something, maybe flapping in his cage.
I tried to put the wing back in the place with a bandage but he would take it off. I insisted, kept wrapping. He completely lost his sense of balance and can't roost. Now he is getting usted to walking again with the bandage on. I brought him home for one night but he just got really stressed and didnt eat or drink. So we went back to the coop, always separate from the hens but with a visual contact. He seems a bit sad, but it's really cold outside. But he eats and drinks.
Today when i went to check on him his bandage was off (i guess the entire day). Wing still hanging. No improvement. It's been a week now. I read in some posts that the wings tend to get better in a couple of days. What do i do? I cant afford a vet and live far from the city. Help! Any suggestions?
