Hi fellow BYC members!I have a about spraying quail eggs with water and discovered that it might even work!Ok here is my story i was incubating some valley quail eggs and accidently sprayed water on them then instead egg cleaner(i know who could not tell the difference between egg cleaner and water

)I was wondering if it helps them develop better? In the last few days they seem to be thriving and developing very well to.Has any one else also seen this happen to valley quail eggs?

I have heard of spraying incubator eggs with water to help increase moisture inside the egg, but this is usually done in drier climates. Too much moisture in a wet environment can drown the chicks. If it works, keep doing it!

I mist all my game bird eggs (quail, pheasant, peafowl) hours before hatch with water...keeps the chicks, especially the quail from shrink wrapping...and that is still keeping my humidity at a constant 65%.

I'm not a fan of the egg cleaner, it kills all the cooties, but also cleans the protective coating off the eggs to keep the cooties on the outside of the shell and allows for penetration of microbes to the embryo...IMO
