Oh I love the name pick for your Leghorn, I might be so inclined to steal it! We have one Light Brown Leghorn (we wanted a breed for white eggs without the white bird color, as our super blue layer will be almost all white). We've only named three of our 16 chicks, I am too picky and it takes forever. Our Roo is Henry, my mum named himI enjoyed looking the thread here....and my condolences to any that lost babies! So sad for you! I guess this is the right place to put up pics of my very tiny flock and my very tiny baby chicks! I am a first timer out of Georgia and finally convinced my hubby to let me get 2 chicks to start with...Day 2- early morning up and at 'em!

Day 1
Day 1
Day 1 My babies are a Leghorn and a Tetra Brown Americana, both pullets. I have decided on Miss Prissy (or Pris) (from the old Leghorn Foghorn days) for my leghorn and for now am calling the little Tetra Miss Brown but will have to be a little more inventive for her. Any suggestions would be appreciated----they are being kept in a second bedroom which none of my animals have access too at all. Any guess on the ages? And any guess as to which is which? I was so excited I didn't look properly at first. Thank you!
You are so welcome to steal it as you say-----I believe any Leghorn hen makes me think of Miss Prissy--- Juno and Nibbles are such cute names!! And Henry would be too---I'd have to call him King Henry the 8th though I think! and have 6 hens--which would be difficult for me to accept since I WANT way more!Oh I love the name pick for your Leghorn, I might be so inclined to steal it! How many birds do you plan to have in the broader? I have 8 chicks in a much smaller space right now but know I will need something larger before they move outside.I enjoyed looking the thread here....and my condolences to any that lost babies! i am by far no Chicken expert, but I can safely as far as age go between 3 days and 5 days. They have the tiny little end feathers on their wings, which they start to devolpe around their 3-5 days usually, depending on the breed. And the one in the food dish that has the little stripy color on her back is most likely the Ameraucana as they tend to have more variation than leghorns we have found. Our little flock got those same little feathers around 3 days on our productions, 4 days old on most, 5 days on the 'slower to mature' breeds we have. They are all now two weeks old today and man do they grow fast!I enjoyed looking the thread here....and my condolences to any that lost babies! So sad for you!
