Hello!!! This is my first post.

I picked up my girls on Saturday.
Esther-Easter Egger
Poulet- Speckled Sussex
Lucy-Blue Ameracauna
Jemima- Maran (not sure what kind)
Chicky-BO
Cespy- Golden Laced Wyandotte
Nugget-Polish
Hennie-White leghorn

My husband and I finished the coop and run this weekend. We lost 2 girls one Sunday night (easter egger) and another yesterday morning (polish). My daughter was heart broken. We went back to the farm yesterday and they replaced them and so far so good.I love watching them. When can I give them a grape as a treat?

Thanks!!!!
Vicki

@vdunn Welcome to BYC! Your chicks look great, love the breed variety and names.
I don't know about grapes as a treat as I'm a new chickie mama too, my babies are 3 weeks old already!
They're so fun and adorable. I love it, great to get your daughter involved too!

Got my 1st egg (brown egg) today from one of my red stars! She's exactly 17 weeks today. The other two off white eggs are from my polish and polish/silkie mix.

@vdunn I haven't read anything about grapes. However, I did read they love strawberries. Unfortunately, my babies are the definition of "chicken". Every time I put something new in the brooder (grass, lettuce, celery, toys and new waterer) they all run and hide in a corner for a good fifteen minutes until my Lucy ventures out and assures them it is ok. They just peck at the food sources, even the blended pellets of meal worms. Still too young I suppose (nearly three weeks). I just keep trying. BTW welcome!

My 4 week olds have grit and have been regularly eating dry meal worms as a treat, bought some live crickets last week at pet store (they LOVED that) and gave some diced up strawberry yesterday and today - they did better with the strawberries when I spread them out on top of a brick.
