Spring Chick Fever!

The hens are very docile. I spent equal time with all of my breeds as chicks, and they were just tame from the beginning! I only ordered four. One died, one was a rooster, and two were hens. The rooster was very friendly, until he got older, and he got kind of aggressive. I trained him out of it, and he is a great rooster! I think they're different from OEGb personalities, because they were never actually bred for fighting.

Well hopefully I get a few sweet girls like yours this time, ordered 10 MGB for insurance. I bought 20 assorted banties last season from Ideal, lovely birds, but 17 were males. The ones I kept though have all been healthy and happy and very good looking.

My personal opinion is, when you order assortments, they are just grabbing a few (probably roosters) from different breed boxes, so you have a better chance at getting males. Because if you order all one breed, you have a better chance of getting any females in there.

That’s what I’m hoping for with my prior luck I’ll be very pleased if I get five girls out of the 13 MGB and Sultans this year. Do you have any pictures of your modern game chickies?
