Chickens love fresh greens from the yard and garden.... now that spring has arrived here in Western NC, weeds like chickweed, clover, dandelion, grasses, bittercrest and others are sprouting up. I gather these fresh spring plants up making sure to get a handful of dirt from below, and put into my chicken coop - they go nuts! they scratch around and get greens and an occasional worm or beetle hiding in the dirt.
