Marie, There is a Splash Sizzle with the Black Silkies, I have tried to watch and snatch any eggs as they are laid so I will know who laid what. The Splash mated to Black will only produce Blue birds I have been told by genetic experts. So in order to get splash you will need a black silkie and a blue sizzle for the next generation so all is not lost with the black silkie for your own breeding program. I did not know that and I gave my blue silkie away. She was not frizzled however so it would not have mattered.

In answer to your question yes there is a chance to get a sizzle on the egg marked Blk Sil. but I tried really hard to identify each egg. The number on the egg was the day it was laid. I tried to remember to do that but I did not get them all marked.

I have three buff laying now so I will be able to get more eggs to those wanting more than I have been able to provide up to now. I have a second Splash Sizzle just about ready to kick her babies out so she will be ready soon.

Thanks for the info. Maybe these guys will hatch for me. I sure hope so. I figured those numbers were dates but thought I would ask for sure. I am so excited. I can't wait. Gotta get started on a brooder. I am going to get that done early so I dont have to worry. And I have to get a new coop going for the new birds. I was going to let them free range in the goat pen but I just don't know if I trust that they wont fly out of the pen and a dog get them or some other critter. I am going to come up with a coop and covered run for them. I want to keep them seperate from the OEGB's so the don't mix. Hopefully I won't get all roos and can have some good layers and maybe broody hens? Then I can share my eggs with others the way you have done with me. Thanks so much.

Marie
