Hi. My name is Sandra. I grew up on a farm, trying to bring it into the city! I have 7 whiterock hens and their rooster, Charlie. I have 2 baby ducks with their pond getting it's finishing touches. :) This year I bought 4 turkeys. They have been so much fun. I love my chickens though. The ducks are strictly intertainment! LOL Trying to incubate 2 eggs, first time... 1 week to go. I don't have much land, but I make the most of the land I have. It's nice to see i'm not the only one doing this! It's a lot of hard work! 8 foot fence around the back of my property..... Worried that some day someone might complain... I love them all so much. Having them has brought me back to life and I enjoy every day that I see Charlie yellin for his girls cause he found a bug... Or watchin the turkey babies running around with their wings flappin!! Happiness is.

! Pleased to have you in our community! You sound like you are going to fit in around here very well. While mostly about chickens, there are sections of BYC devoted to ducks and turkeys as well. Have fun and enjoy your adventure!
 
That would be sad. He warns and protects my girls from bigger birds and wild city animals... He still has his tines (i think that's what they're called) I would hope to maintain my flock with his genes. Without him, they would just die off. He is a good rooster who deserves his proper place. :)
