Sprouted Lentils for Chicks

I tried sprouting lentils for the first time, and had pretty good success (it wasn’t exactly hard lol). Can I give these to ~5 week old chicks? Answers across the internet vary. They do get chick grit when needed.

I give mine small amounts of fermented grains at around two weeks so I'd sure think five weeks was safe for sprouts. I put a shallow box of dirt in there so they get grit, dust bath, and some coccidiosis exposure all at the same time!

Consider if a hen was raising your chicks what all those chicks would be eating!

Grit should be available at all times. They're the only ones who know when they need it. I never thought of sprouting lentils! What a great idea!
