Sprouting greens for winter.... Photos

I use the milk nut bags in place of cheese cloth. It's a soft mesh that's plastic. It's awesome I think. I buy mine on eBay, 2 for $4.49 I think.

I sprout on my kitchen counter. I do not sprout in dark places. It works great for me. I rinse in the coldest of water several times a day. I rinse several times at a time too.

I'm looking forward to sprouting a bigger variety of beans and seeds this year. We eat the sprouts ourselves too in our salads.

Sometimes I will put the seeds right in the bag, but I usually cover the jars with the milk but bags in place of cheese cloth. Milk nut bags can be used over and over without getting ruined or yucky.

I use a hair binder to keep it tight on the lid.:)

If one were to use a "milk nut bag" for its intended purpose, what would one be doing? I like the sound of it, milk nut bag. Never, ever heard of it.

Sprouts also work well in a tray w/ a screen bottom. Rinse w/ hose, cover w/ towel.

Milk nut bag. Milk nut bag. That's gonna keep me awake at night.

I would worry about the DE dust in the air. It's perfectly harmless if eaten but if the dust gets in the lungs (of either the birds or us) it can cause serious lung problems.

How do you store your wheat & oats that you get in the 50 lb bags until you use them.
