SpruceCreekWaterfowl Spring Hatching Thread

Hey guys! Haven't been on too much this winter so I'm not sure if you remember me & I'm sure there are plenty of new folks on here that I've never met. Let me introduce myself....my name is Lucas and I have geese, ornamental ducks, and domestic ducks. My website is www.sprucecreekwaterfowl.webs.com and I raise:
Mandarins, Wood Ducks, Ringed Teal, Cinnamon Teal, Marble Teal, Fawn & White Runner Ducks, Welsh Harlequins, & Sebastopol Geese. The pictures on my site are all from the past two years and I'm trying to get some updated pictures, but I can't find the time right now with the breeding season being so so busy.
I'll try and keep this thread updated so you can follow along with our breeding season and how everything is going, feel free to post what's going on at your farm also!

Right now I have at least 12 sebastopol eggs, 24 runner duck, 10 Harlequin, 5 Mandarin, and one Wood Duck egg in the incubator. The domestics are laying like crazy and the wild ducks are just starting. As of now, I only have one gosling, a female sebastopol. The next batch is due to hatch next week! I'll keep you updated on the progress!

Welcome back! As of now i have 2 mandarins that hatched out a few weeks back and 3 mandarin eggs that are do any hour now, and a ringed teal egg thats do within the next 36hours.

Wow kansaskid, you are already very busy! Good luck with those eggs, hope you can get some more ducklings! This is always the best time of the year...

With ducks like yours... who could forget!!! You sure are going to be busy with that many all in the bator at once. I look forward to plenty of gorgeous photos over the spring and summer as they grow.

please if anyone can help me please do. i have 4 sebastopol on lock down now. they are do to hatch today but are showing no sign of peeping. im so worryed. this is my first time an dont want to do anything wrong. when i put them in lock down i candled them and all were moving around so i know they are alive in there. what can i dp to help them?

does any of you have our know where to get show quality white and gray calls. i just stated breed in bu my gray hen got eaten and i don't have a white drake.

Glad your back. I was wondering how things were going? My DH bought me a pair of Mandarins ducklings last year and she laid her first egg today. My first thought was of you and your Mandarins. Are yours laying? My BEI's just started a couple of weeks ago. They were really late this year but we did have a really bad winter. The Mandarins are in with the BEI's, is that going to be a problem? They pretty much stay to themselves except when I go in with some worms, then the male chases all the others away from me so that they can get the worms first. Anyway, glad to see you posting again.

I was JUST thinkin bout you a couple days ago when I saw soo many new names in here and was thinkin bout some I hadnt seen in awhile. U told me that my wood duck I had that I thought was a girl , was reallya a boy... so glad your back.. cant wait to see pics.

Glad to see everyone again! 4-H Chicken Mom, yes my mandarin is now laying, glad you got yourself a pair! Also, my wood ducks and mandies are the only wild breeds laying, but I know the other ones are starting right about now. Hattiegun, yep I remember! You need to get yourself some wood ducks

Update: There are now a total of 40 eggs in the bator and about 10 waiting to be put in. There are sebastopols, welsh harlequins, runners, mandies, & woodies...it's getting crazy here! The next ones are due to hatch next week.
