I had them coming out my ears till one went broody. But I don't need my own. Looks like i'm starting my winter hatch early. Both my bators are full now.

Hi everyone..it's been quite a while since I've traded with you. My Cochin's are on vacation now lol. Have several beautiful pullets from this Spring so I shall be back when they begin to lay ;-)

I just got a pair of buff sebrights that are supposed to be show stock, and a pair of Hamburgs , so if they lay I could offer some eggs from them. I hate when the swaps bog down!

Oooo what type of hamburgs? Silver spangled? Good luck with the sebrights. In my experience the roos are quite cranky. I have gold and I have experienced the show stock roos as well as hatchery. The hatchery one has been handled daily by my 4 year old daughter and still got a bit nasty. Course him and his g/f live in a rabbit hutch now that shes nearing laying age so it doesn't matter much. His g/f is much nicer my daughter even takes her on the swing with her. lol. Course she does that with the d'uccles to.

Yes, I believe they are silver spangled, I will get a pic tomorrow . The sebright seemed ok to handle, yet the Hamburgs seemed flighty , but you don't know what they went through earlier in the day. This guy was showing which birds were for sale, grabbed up a big rooster by the wing and was waving it around! I said to my friend, let's grab him up and dangle him by the arm and see how he likes it!

Oh wow, now you have 2 breeds that my fiance wants. lol.

I personally love the sebrights even though the roosters can be nasty. Of course I love my hatchery ones better than the breeder stock that I got, they were flighty and miserable. I cant wait for my pullet to start to lay. I want more. I like the silver better. My daughter loves the gold though so thats what I get. I really need to stop collecting more breeds. I have one of the fluffy feathered ameraucanas and am not sure what I am going to do with him. I really need to get some b/b/s ameraucanas to breed him to. Or find someone to sell him to and ship him off.

Maybe Mrs. Fluffy Puffy would like him to go with her self blue cochin. lol. Seeing as they are best friends and all. Darned boy is a scaredy cat. Tryed to incorporate him in with my laying flock until he gets some friends and he hides in the corner. I had to put him in my silkie pen for now hes bigger than anything in that pen and he still runs away.
