Square buckets for nesting box

Would some of those squared-off buckets laid on their side be good nesting boxes for my hens? Or would that be too small / cramped for them?

if their 5 gallon buckets,, its plenty of room,, if they can fit in them, and turn around,, its fine,, some like "close quarters"

OK, 'cause I see on MyPetChicken.com they sell this thing:

The openings of those are 12" wide and 10" deep... Seems like about a 5 gallon paint bucket!.

i have 5 gallon round buckets for mine,, some people cut them,, some dont,, i did the first time,, but next 1 i do im just gonna leave it like it is. ( hint,, on the rounds ya need to attach 2 pieces of wood, 1 each side,, to keep them from rolling round on the floor,, hahaha
