Squatting but no egg

My Barred rock girl has been squatting now for over 2 weeks probably more like 3 and still no egg. How long does it usually take?

How old is your bird? They will usually lay at like 5-6 months or so. I've had 3 month old silkies squat but not pop out a single dang egg till they were 8 months old.

Oh... rude silkies! That's just plain mean.

My barred rock is 18 weeks old. could start laying anytime now, it's the squatting that's confusing to me. All my other girls started laying within 2 weeks of squatting.
