My RIR squatted for me yesterday when I tried to pet her!!! (back-end down and she still still) Doesn't this mean she'll be laying soon? How soon? :)She's 20 weeks old and I've been waiting. Her comb & wattles look mature and quite red!

My Golden Sex Links started squatting for me about a week or two before they layed.

It means she's getting ready to lay or brood - give her a few more weeks. Also, if you've a rooster she's signaling her readiness to be bred.

Yup, good sign! She's signaling her submissiveness to you (her "people roo"). Give her another couple of weeks and she'll be two weeks closer to laying. [IMG]

She'll lay when she's ready to do so. But that's one sign it's closer.
