I have a 4 year old rooster who has bouts of squawking and pumping and shaking his head when he drinks. No discharge of any kind. It started in June. Vet visit was diagnosed as respiratory. Did 2 rounds of baytril. He didn't improve but got lethargic and skinny. I put him back with his girls after 2 weeks. He slowly returned to normal as in crowing, mating, and threatening me. This week it's back. Happens when he drinks. It's almost like a seizure. He is loud and it continues for awhile. Eventually, he quiets down and follows the girls around. If he drinks, it starts over. I wormed him 3 times with safeguard. 2 times before the vet visit. Vet said to worm him one more time. None of the others have any symptoms. He is eating fine unless I separate him. He just stays inside and doesn't come into the run when he is isolated. Any ideas? We did get a lot of rain end of May into the first of June. 2 weeks ago, we had 2 inches in one day. Otherwise, it's been dry and hot.
