Squeaking and Gasping Hen

My hen is making squeaking noises and is gasping a little. Otherwise she seems fine. What would cause this? Any suggestions as to what I should do?

Can you post a video? It will need to be uploaded to youtube or other host and the link put here so it can be seen. Is this something new, how long has it been going on? How old is the hen? Is it hot where you are?
It could be stridor, which is a partial obstruction of the airway. That can be from an object, or bit of feed getting stuck, or it could be from swelling in the throat. A respiratory infection could cause it also. Sometimes, like in the case of a bit of feed, it will resolve on it's own. I've also had hens that were a bit stressed from hot weather do this, cooling them off helped. You can also look in her mouth and down her throat to see if you can see anything obvious. If it doesn't resolve, or gets worse, then a video would be helpful.

I just returned home so I have not seen her since Friday morning. She seems fine otherwise. She laid an egg either late yesterday or today. I threw some sunflower seeds and she ran in with the other chickens and ate them. Her color seems good, no eye or nose discharge. I guess I’ll keep an eye on her. It’s hot but not hotter than normal. She was locked up in run/coop while I was away and we did get some storms so don’t know if it could be stress related.
