I have a 18 month old turken hen. She survived a dog attack last may and hasn't laid an egg since. No blood or puncture marks. She just lost feathers and wedged herself into a tight space. She has been off ever since.

The last two weeks she has started making a funny squeak / sneeze noise. I locked her up in the garage away from the others. She stopped making the noise. She eats and drinks, poop is normal. She will also tilt her head at times in a weird angle. Her mouth looks clear. No mites or lice on her.

Any ideas on the sudden weird noise and why is goes away indoors. We have snow on the ground still or I wondered if it could be allergies. Maybe it's nothing, but something feels off. She is also the loner of the flock and is by herself most of the time. Thanks

Would it be possible to upload a video the YouTube with a link here of her making the noise? It is possible that she is having stridor which is the sound in this video below. If it is, that is from having something partially blocking the airway, such as mucus from a respiratory disease, swollen tissue in the airway, or a small piece of food stuck. It sometimes clears in a few hours, but if it doesn’t and you hear sneezing, it may be a respiratory infection. Here is the video:

She doesn't sound like that. Its more a squeak/ sneeze. She has had it for two weeks. Her breathing is fine. She is running around and acting like she always does. I tried to get a video and she stopped making the noise.

Glad that it was not stridor. It does sound like she is having some sneezing, and that can be common when they get some dust or feed up their nostrils. Check for any nasal drainage or blocked nostril, look for any bubbles in an eye, or any rattles when breathing.

No bubbles around her eyes. They look great. No drainage around her nose. I will check for a blockage. Thanks.
