Edited about 24 hours later..
I understand the dead chicken method has worked for a lot of people..But I'd rather go a different route..

I will be trying the muzzle method..

As for now..She is on the porch in a harness..She has the cable run to use (It hadnt been used for dogs since we got the fence..It stayed because it is a great clothes line

She is now very quick to mind her commands..I'm going to leave her out again tonight..(37 will be the low temp)
She is quite fluffy and loves to sleep outside when I let her..
She has access to a dogloo..food and water.

I figure by morning..She will be able to remember that I am top dog..

I understand that if I tie the dead chicken (This was my favorite one) on my dog that maybe I can break her of this ...

We had major winds today and the gate somehow didnt latch proper..

I love my dogs, but I -must- break her of this habit..I won't shoot her, but some of the neighbors will if she does it to theirs..

And my rooster is still missing..

I saw him running away..So I hope he is ok, but he is missing a decent amount of feathers..

So much for quitting smoking..I got my roomate to go buy me 2 packs..

Smoking won't help, so just quit it.

I used vetwrap and strapped the chicken to my dogs neck & left her tied out where she killed it. She was miserable. Not sure if that will really deter her or not, though - especially when the darned chicken flew over the fence into the dog run

Now, Now you are NOT old enough to smoke. As for tying the chicken to the dog, if it was me,
I would use duct tape. That way it would not come off.

Any idea on a way to tie the dog herself?
She's not used to being tied up and I dont want her to hurt herself? I dont have a harness..
I do have 3 rolls of vetwrap

good luck with it....my favorite dog killed my favorite chickens.....I learned to keep them up----- and they she(my dog) got hit. I don't know which was worse...........all the best to you.

All dogs are predators, I don't think tying a dead chicken to one is going to help. The only way to keep a dog from killing their natural pray is to strictly train them. We have a Manchester Terrier, he will shake uncontrollably, stare and drool when he sees the cats or the chickens. But he knows he is absolutely not allowed to touch them and he never has.
