Squinting hen?

Bullet, I don't know a thing about ducks. As far as being cured, I guess it depends on what's causing the squinting/closed eye. I think it can be a symptom for a few different viral or bacterial upper respiratory infections, and then there's the possibility of injury as well.

My hen got better after treatment with Tylan (thanks purpletree!). She was back 100%, and she even started laying for the first time (yay!). BUT, on the same side where she had the closed eye, she now has a swelling on her face underneath the eye. She is eating and drinking great. Great activity level, lays great. The only symptom is this swelling under the eye...

Any thoughts as to what this could be? Though my hens all seem to be recovered from the suspected respiratory illness, there are still two that sneeze regularly. I have not heard any weird congestion or anything like that though, and they do seem fine otherwise. Should I be worried that the infection is coming back? Or could it actually be something like gapeworm instead? Or just a sneezing habit?! Also, how normal is it for them to scratch their faces? I see my hens doing this sometimes.

Ok, then its possible that it may be an infection. My rooster keeps his open all the time, but whenever I hold him, that's when he closes it.

whenever you hold him... that sounds normal i will stroke mine and one side closes it is just a weird thing they do i guess... i think there has to be more to it then that for it to be a infection... i don't know though
