Squirrels on the menu

Dang, don't waste that squirrel on them girls, that's fine dining! Soak in milk overnight, then fry it up tomorrow like you would fry a chicken. Otherwise, if you're set on feeding it to your flock, steamed with rice would be nice and simple, add leftover bits and pieces of veggies either raw or cooked with it for color. Once cooled, can dish it up.

Here is a simple recipe. I put about 5 squirrels in a crock pot with water for a few hours. Next remove and debone the meat by hand. Then put meat in crock pot with new water just enough to cover the meat mix in a package of McCormick Garlic Whine & Herb. Cook an hour or so then mix the meat with rice with how ever much of the crock pot water you want for more flavor. You can also mix onions, and peppers or whatever in the rice. this also works with chicken my kid loves this.

I have a large orchard and put out 5 safeguard traps to trap varmints that wreak havoc on my orchard and garden, They're nothing more than tree rats. I usually trap about 50 every year along with other pests. I thought feeding them to my hens might be a possibility.
Kill and bury for fertilizer.
