Squirrels !!

Might be as simple as sprinkling some hot pepper flakes in the nesting box ?
Hot stuff: The active ingredient in hot peppers, capsaicin, can be found as an additive in some birdseed. Birds don't react to capsaicin the way mammals do so it does them no harm. But when squirrels eat the treated seed, it irritates their mouths making them less likely to eat more.

I am having squirrel problems, not really stealing eggs but just over-run with them and they are tearing the centers out of all my garden greens. I have a trap but have not found a good bait. I have tried the romaine and radicchio hearts they are tearing up in the garden, corn, peanut butter and bird seed/suet. Any advice on trapping squirrels?
