Squishy-shell: I’m stumped! Any ideas?

I got one doing the same thing, started about 3 months back and haven't figured out who it is as I have 16 hens. They sometimes have a shell but it is really thin so when you go to pick it up it will collapse and has a very dark end to it compared to the rest of the shell. When I say dark, it is the color close to a copper maran egg, and the rest is normal brown egg color

Oh no, it just bites. Let me know if it changes, I’m curious and hopeful that both our hens harden up!

I've had a few eggs like that but it usually went away after one. Is she getting enough calcium?
I would think she is the flock gets wet layer in morning and evenings and has dry feeder with all flock plus some added oyster shell. And they have access to oyster shell in a separate feeder. I was feeding Dumont, but switched over to a local mill feed after finding the dumont was pushing 6 months of age in the store, and the fact I was getting a lot of dust in the bags. They seem to like the new feed much better and I am still getting a soft egg but not as often as I was.
