Stackable brooder When to move chicks

Hi all...New to the forum and need some advice. I just purchased a used stackable GQF brooder and am wondering how many weeks baby chicks can live in it. I will have Australorps and Americanas. Each box is 12" in height. Thanks for your help!

I just moved mine at 3 weeks. Not because they were out of head room but because more are coming. I have kept them in there until 6-7 weeks but it does get cramped. You can buy an expansion that raises it 4" or just use some scrap 2x4 you have laying around to raise the cover and give them more room.
Love my brooder. Cut down feed bags to line the drop pans. Just roll it up and the poop slides off.
