staggard hatch?

How do you do a staggard hatch? Just curious.

staggered hatch basically is where you have a separate setter and separate hatcher

so you can place eggs in setter when ever you want staggering the days

and as it hits day 18 you transfer the eggs to hatcher as they go




so for example I have staggered hatches using 2 Brinsea octagon 20s

I set 8 eggs on Sunday Week 1 (mark eggs with blue sharpie)
then another 8 on Sunday week 2 (mark eggs with black sharpie)
then another 8 on Sunday Week 3 (mark eggs with red sharpie)

That makes 24 eggs full capacity

then on Wednesday nearing end of week 3 is day 18

I remove the Week 1 eggs into Hatcher

they hatch on Saturday

leavening with space for 8 more eggs to set on week 8 and back to marking with blue sharpie

The great thing is the next eggs don't need to go into hatcher till the Wednesday, giving me 5 days to get the hatches out the way and hatcher ready again and even if there is an odd straggler then no probs as there is guaranteed space in bator with the 1 week 8 egg system
