stall dri/dry is it safe?

The stall-dri that is non-toxic is the stuff that has a picture of a chicken on the front of it. Let me see if I can find the website, and I'll add it to this post...

How do you apply stall dri? do you just sprinkle into the coop or put it under the bedding or what?

I first lay down my bedding which for me is mulch hay, then layer heavily with stall dri, I also use the deep litter method Hope this helps

Do folks like it better than plain food grade de? How much does it cost?

I pay $9 for a 24.5 Lb. bag, I usually buy 2 bags at a time and this will last me a few months. I love it because the clay help absorb wetness not to mention amonia, and it has a natural woody pine smell keeping things fresh and tidy

I really don't know because the girl at the feed store asked me if I wanted the white bag or the yellow bag, lol. She said the yellow bag has a chemical in it and the white bag doesn't. I was in a hurry gathering stuff for my vacation so I really didn't look into it more and haven't yet, but it is the Stall Dry brand.

I bought a 25 lb bag of this today and since I live in a humid climate and only have 4 chickens, I want to break it into smaller moisture-proof bags or containers so it won't become rock solid (like my powered laundry detergent does in the summer b/c of the humidity). What do other people do to keep it from getting wet from the weather?

I asked about stall dry at my local IFA and she showed me this bottle that was maybe two quarts at most and told me it was just like stall dry, but it was $50.

I told her I wasn't that desperate! I know that stall dry couldn't be that expensive if so many people here use it! I'll have to check around and see if I can find it somewhere else when I head toward the city.
