Thank you. No I am not breeding for shows. I started to keep chickens for eggs and meat. Hopefully he will breed my Golden Laced Wyandotte, hopefully we will get some pretty chicks from that combination. In the spring I would like to add Barnevelders to my flock.Yours is a beautiful rooster, and you are right, he looks healthy. Unless you are breeding Barnevelders and want show quality birds, it doesn't make much difference if he is a little off in color.
He is blueIs he black or blue? I can't tell with the lighting.
Thank you, I like him a lot. The previous owner just said Barnevelder. No specific color. This is my first rooster. I am so curious how he will mature. He is about 4,5 months old right now and crows every morningI thought he looked blue! Pretty boy! Did they sell him as a Blue Laced?
Yes, the link is working and he is beautiful. No, my rooster doesn;t have the blue on the bottom. He more has a blue shine on his feathers, if that makes sense. Some of his back feathers have lacing.I hope this link works correctly, should take you to a photo of a Double Blue Laced Barnevelder rooster. https://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGA/Barnev/BarneBlueLacedCkl.JPEG
