So I've put my 15 hens (9wks old) and my 13 bantams (7wks old) out in the coop ( 10' x 10')on Wed. They have been kept in seperate brooders up until now. The Bantams are scared of the much bigger hens and pretty much huddle up in a corner which I don't like at all. They only seem to come out and eat etc. while we are in the coop. This morning, the bigger hens were pecking at the Bantams/chasing them pretty bad and I could tell they were stressed and scared. Is this situation going to get better with time??? I've read where lots of people keep Standards and Bantams together with no probs.
I'm finishing up my run which will be 10' x 20' and hopefully the birds can be free range during the times when I'm home all day. I just pray that they can all get along. I can't really divide the coop in two the way I designed it.
Thoughts????
